At approximately 9am EST on February 22nd 2021, blue dots Started appearing around Earth 2, which were visible on the Heatmap.
Rumors circulated that these blue dots were the developers testing where essence (the first resource being brought to E2) spawns.
This led some users to buy where the blue dots where spawning.
Are the Blue Dots Still Visible in Earth 2?
Some dots moved around a little while after being introduced.
At around 12pm EST the dots were removed and all we were left with were the screenshots and speculation of what the dots may be.
However, the dots remained on the phase 2 website a bit longer. The phase 2 website is used to test future updates before release to the official game.
The Mysterious Dots
The dots seemed to be somewhat evenly spread out. The more tiles bought in a region the more dots there were at that place.
As you can see below, the middle of The United States is mostly empty of blue dots.
The majority of players did not buy in the middle and as a result it appears no blue dots have been created.
What is Essence in Earth 2?
In phase 2, "essence" is going to be introduced. All tiles will produce essence, which will allow you to spend it to gain resources from the tiles you own.
Have Earth 2 Developers said Anything on Blue Dots?
Unfortunately, the developers have made no statement giving information on what the dots are and what may come of them.
